Earth Day Pagan Reflection Don't pray to or invoke characters of divinity such as Thor or Loki, they are not real. We do make them real. Just ask them, they will tell you. Someone recently asked me if I wanted to make an offering to Thor that night, while I understand the importance of symbolism in helping shape our intentions and align multiple individual consciousnesses to a desired outcome, I do not subscribe to the notion that there are gods that desire a sacrifice in order to gain favor. It's too quid pro quo. I understand that there is a balance in giving up something in order to gain something, but the offering to divine powers I feel is too cartoonish for my liking, some god looking over my shoulder pedantically ensuring I do all the steps proper . That being said, if it works for others, then I am for it... for them. And by sacrifice I meant to say burn some object of value or something of that nature, not slitting the throat of a goat or worse. Nothing has to die in o...
